In 2021 Arizona passed gaming legislation that, among other things, gave the Arizona Lottery the authority to offer keno. As of now the lottery has not launched a statewide monitor keno game: the legal door is open, but no lottery keno is on the street. In the meantime, tribal casinos across Arizona offer keno on video terminals and at live counters. This page covers where keno stands in the state and where you can play it today.
Arizona's 2021 gaming package was a broad expansion that legalized sports betting and updated tribal gaming compacts. Lottery keno authorization was part of the legislative language, but authorization and launch are two different things. Standing up a monitor keno game means contracts, retailer monitors, a draw system, and prize structures, and the Arizona Lottery has prioritized other products so far.
While there is no lottery keno yet, Arizona has a large network of tribal casinos, and some offer keno or video keno on the floor. Tribal gaming in Arizona is run under state-tribal compacts, and the bigger resort casinos around Phoenix, Tucson, and the rest of the state have extensive electronic gaming that can include keno machines.
If the Arizona Lottery launches keno, it will almost certainly use the standard 80-number, 20-draw format with spot counts from 1 to 10, like every other lottery keno state.
