ODDS YOU CAN TRUST

How do we calculate your odds? We use the same proven math the lottery uses, so the chances we show you are the real chances.

Show me the math

The probability of matching k of your m spots, when 20 numbers are drawn from 80, comes straight from the hypergeometric distribution. It is the exact same formula our calculators run, open and checkable.

P(k) = C(m,k) · C(80−m, 20−k)C(80, 20)
Example · 6-spot, hit all 6:
C(20,6) / C(80,6) = 38,760 / 300,500,200
= 1 in 7,753

FREQUENTLY ASKED

The best keno odds come from picking fewer spots. A 4-spot game has odds of 1 in 326 to hit all 4, far better than a 10-spot game at 1 in 8.9 million. If you want better hit frequency, stick to 3–5 spots.

Most experienced players pick 4–8 spots. Four-spot keno offers the most frequent wins; 6-spot is the most popular balance of payout and hit rate; 8–10 spots are for jackpot-style play.

Keno has one of the highest house edges in gambling, typically 20–35% depending on the game and spot count. Lottery keno often runs 35%+ house edge, while some video keno machines can be as low as 5–10%.

Keno and slots are comparable in house edge (20–35%), but keno is slower-paced. The key advantage of keno is transparency: you can see the exact odds with a calculator, unlike slots where the math is hidden.

No gambling game offers consistent wins, keno included. That said, you can make smarter choices: picking fewer spots increases your hit frequency, and understanding the paytable helps you find games with better returns.
