Pennsylvania's Keno Multiplier is priced differently from most states. It costs twice your base wager rather than matching it, so a $1 base play plus the Multiplier is a $3 ticket, tripling your total cost rather than doubling it. A multiplier is selected at random for the draw and applies to all prizes on the ticket, with 10x by far the least frequent outcome.
Smaller prizes are normally paid straight back at the retailer that sold the ticket, and larger ones go through a lottery claim center or a mail-in claim. Federal rules treat a state lottery keno prize like any other lottery prize: once your winnings minus the wager clear $5,000, the lottery withholds 24% for the IRS before it pays you, and smaller prizes can still be reported on a Form W-2G. Pennsylvania taxes lottery winnings as income as well, and the lottery withholds at the state level on larger prizes, so check the operator's own claim page for the current thresholds and rate before you plan around a number.
